Councillor stung into action!

A WARRINGTON councillor learned about the problems of overgrown footpaths the hard way.
Cllr the Rev Steve Parish, who represents the Bewsey and Whitecross ward, was asked by residents to arrange for overgrown bushes to be cleared away from a foot bridge in Sankey Valley Park.
Cllr Parish wanted “before and after” pictures of the scene, so backed into the bushes and got stung by nettles!
After the work had been completed he went back to see the transformation.
He said: “It’s an important pedestrian route and I’ll try and make sure the bushes are cut back earlier next time. Once stung….”

  1. Never mind councillor when infused in boiling water, the nettle roots and leaves give out the special healing properties.

Some of the more well-known health benefits is that they when drunk as tea they counter arthritis, rheumatism, tendonitis and other disorders of the muscles and joints. So go and grab a bunch of dock leaves and relax, put your feet up and have a nice cuppa to stave off the aches and pains.

  2. how about “councillor comments on story about councillor being stung by nettles; but doesn’t comment on story about giving away leisure centres or chief executives pay rises etc”??
