You are not on your own

WARRINGTON Breast Cancer Care Support Group is putting out a message to victims of the disease: “You are not on your own.”
The group, based at Warrington Hospital, offers help to everyone including those recently diagnosed, those who have had the disease in the past or have general concerns or family history worries.
It was started 20 years ago by a group of women who had breast cancer and wanted to offer help to others in a similar situation.
The group runs a drop in centre between 9.30am and 12pm every Wednesday at the breast screening clinic in the Kendrick Wing at the hospital, where visitors can enjoy a tea or coffee and a chat and get a range of information.
It also runs a support meeting on the first Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in the hospital’s postgraduate centre. Those attending are invited to bring a friend.
Future social events include talks, jewellery displays, and parties.
