TEA-DRINKERS from Warrington can meet local TV star Josh Hill at a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party being held in the town.
Josh, who appears in BBC fly on the wall documentary ‘Blood Sweat and Takeaways’ will join the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington at the event this Saturday (Feb 27).
The tea-party aims to raise awareness of Fairtrade Fortnight. Organisers hope to encourage people to make the change to fairtrade teabags by asking them to drink 1,001 cups of Fairtrade Tea at a series of events over two weeks.
All ages are welcome and Alice, as appointed by the Lewis Carroll Society, will be judging a competition to design a Mad Hatter’s Fairtrade Hat. The event will take place under the Old Fish Market canopy at Golden Square from 11am until 3pm.
Learners from Birchwood Community High School will also be supporting Fairtrade Fortnight by holding a tea party in the school’s Business Resource Centre on Friday February 26 from 10am until 11 am. Tea, of course, will be on offer, as well as coffee, biscuits and a Fairtrade stall.
A Strictly Fairtrade Tea Dance will also take place on March 6. To find out more about Fairtrade Fortnight, visit www.thebigswap.org.uk.
