POPULAR Warrington Town striker Jimmy McCarthy has pledged his future
to the club after turning down a move to higher league Nantwich Town.
McCarthy, who earlier in the season turned down a move to Mossley, caught Nantwich’s eye when Warrington dumped their Unibond Premier League opponents out of the F.A Cup last month.
But after holding talks with manager Joey Dunn, McCarthy has pledged his future to The Yellows, where he has impressed this season.
Commenting on McCarthy’s decision to stay with Warrington,
Dunn said: “He has decided to stay because he believes we have a better team here at Warrington, which was clearly shown in the F.A Cup match.
“I believe we have put together a good squad here at Warrington and this is a club going places.
“After a slow start to the season the new players we have brought in are now finding their feet and I honestly don’t think there are any teams in our league, with the possible exception of Halifax, who are better than us.
“We have nothing to fear moving forward and I fully expect us to be there, or there abouts challenging for promotion towards the end of the season.
“I can’t wait to have another go at Halifax in January because they will not be three goals better than us!
“I have got the full support of an ambitious board who have delivered off the field and now we are starting to deliver on it.
“Despite the disappointment of going out of the F.A Cup we are still in the F.A Trophy and there is a real good feel factor at the club.”

Fantastic news, just goes to show all the hard work is paying off if players are willing to stay a division below to play for Warrington.
Jimmy Mcarthy is the worst player at the club, what has he done but moan like a little baby, he needs to get a grip and concentrate on performing to the best of his ability, if he can do that without the moaning then maybe he will do better and maybe even play at a decent level.
