Police step up search for raiders

POLICE have stepped up their search for two men who raided a convenience store near Warrington.
They have released CCTV images of the pair who attacked a shop assistant in the armed raid on a Spar Shop.
The two thugs entered the shop in Bridgewater Grange, Preston Brook at 9.45pm on Wednesday, April 9, brandishing a piece of wood at the assistant and demanding money.
They then vaulted the counter, snatched cash and cigarettes, assaulted the assistant and left.
One of the men was in his early 20s, slim and about 5ft 10 inches tall. He was wearing a hooded, two-tone blue tracksuit.
He was the one carrying the piece of wood.
The second man was of similar age and build and wore a grey tracksuit.
