Hard fought victory for Town

WARRINGTON Town returned to winning ways with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Garforth Town as both teams finished the game with 10 men.
Gavin Salmon beat the off-side trap early on to put Warrington 1-0 up, cooly slotting the ball around the advancing keeper.
But when the visitors were reduced to 10 men midway through the half Warrington appeared to step off the gas.
Their cause was not helped by a whistle happy referee!
Chris Gahgan had a great chance to make the game safe in the second half after being brought down in the box – but his penalty attempt was well saved by the keeper.
The visitors were unlucky not to be on level terms after hitting the post and did’nt seem to be any the worse for being a man down.
Levi Kennedy saw red for Town 20 minutes from time after being sent off for foul and abusive language – his third red card of the season.
But his dismissal seemed to inspire Warrington who eventually made the game safe when Gahgan made amends for his penalty miss, capitalising on a defensive blunder, to fire home into the back of the net 10 minutes from time.
