KEEPER Luke Pilling pulled off another magnificent penalty save for Warrington Rylands on the way to a 0-1 win at Leek Town last night, Tuesday, giving new manger Neil Reynolds his first league win.
Straight from the kick-off Rylands were on the attack and passed the ball around with skill and accuracy and despite their position at the bottom of the league table controlled the first 25 minutes of the match. However, it took until the 20th minute for Ntumba Massanka to sting the hands of keeper Dino Visser with the first shot on goal.
Leek gradually worked their way back into the game but at half time neither side had beaten the opposition goalkeeper and the score remained goalless.
Rylands came out for the second half as they had for the first and with just two minutes on the clock Leek failed to clear the ball and Ben Hardcastle was in the correct position to head the ball into the net.
Warrington Rylands stood firm as wave upon wave of Leek attacks came at them but after 5 minutes of injury time they walked off the pitch victorious.
This was manager Neil Reynolds first league win with Rylands and he made a point of thanking each individual player after the match. As a result of this win Warrington have moved up three places and are no longer at the bottom.
Hopefully he will be congratulating his team on Saturday after they travel to high-flying Macclesfield who are sitting comfortably in top spot.
