CCTV captures burglar

A SEARCH is on throughout Warrington for the burglar who raided a building company – after CCTV footage was released on Facebook and youtube.
More than 1,000 local people have seen the footage of an intruder moving around the storeroom at Hartwell Developments, Camsley Grange Farm, Camsley Lane during the break-in at about 4am last Friday.
Using his mobile phone as a torch he stole more than £2,000 worth of tools, copper wire and cable. Tools taken included a nail gun, a petrol Stihl saw and other power tools.
Business owner Steve Higginson said the tools had been removed from the van as he thought they would be safer in the storeroom.
“This is the first robbery on the estate as the site is a locked farmyard,” he said.
The intruder smashed the outside door of the storeroom and made several trips into the room, taking the goods away on foot.
During the incident he realised he was being recorded and tried to cover his face. He then covered the camera with a glove, which has been passed to police for forensic testing.
Steve said it is business as usual at the firm – if they need extra tools they will rent them.
