Police seek owners of stolen goods

POLICE at Warrington are trying to track down the owners of suspected stolen property worth thousands of £s.
Detectives are trying to trace the rightful owners of items believed to have been stolen from homes across the borough.
They include distinctive pieces of jewellery such as watches, rings and earrings along with clothing, electrical items, power tools, ornaments, golf clubs and an electric guitar – all recovered over the past 6 months.
Detective Sergeant Adrian Priest said: “We have recovered a significant amount of property that we think has been stolen from homes in Warrington, Runcorn and Widnes. It would be a shame not to see these valuable items returned to their owners – I’m sure that many of them have a lot of sentimental value.”
The property is currently locked away in police storage for safe keeping. But this week detectives released further information about the items in the hope progress can be made.
DS Priest added: “It is our priority to get this property back where it belongs. If you believe that any of these items do belong to you then we would urge you to give us a call, provide us with a bit more information about the item and we can take it from there. The more information people can give us about their missing item, the more effective we can be in returning it to its rightful owner.
“We do return a significant amount of stolen property to its rightful owner but there are often items that are left behind for a variety of reasons. “
Anyone who thinks they may own the missing property should call 01244 615804 or 01244 615858 between 8am and 4pm (Monday to Friday).
