WARRINGTON-based teenage darts star Luke Littler silenced critics in his Premier League debut, topping the table and preparing to face Michael Smith in the semi-finals as he aims for his first major title.

Luke Littler has defied all expectations in his debut season of the Premier League. Many questioned his readiness for such a prestigious competition, but Littler has silenced his critics with his impressive performances. Topping the table after 16 weeks of gruelling action, he is now set to face Michael Smith in the semi-final at London’s O2 Arena.

Littler’s journey to the finals has been nothing short of remarkable. Despite a shaky start, he found his rhythm in the second half of the season, winning four of the 16 weekly nights. His consistent performance secured him the top spot on the leader board.

Reflecting on his journey, Littler told SportsBoom.com: “They were doubters saying I weren’t ready after the first half [of the Premier League season]didn’t go well. The second half it’s gone to plan, I’ve finished top with four nightly wins and I’m enjoying proving the doubters wrong.”

Enjoying the Premier League Ride
For Littler, the Premier League has been a mix of challenges and exhilaration. The rigorous travel schedule has been a downside, but the experience of playing in front of large crowds has been immensely rewarding.
“I’ve been enjoying it, the travel has been boring, but I’m just enjoying playing in front of these crowds every week,” he shared.

Managing the pressure of the Premier League is no small feat, especially for a debutant. Littler has adapted quickly, developing a routine that has seen him grow into the competition.
He explained his approach, “I just turned up every week telling myself to win the first game and get the guaranteed two points. I quickly got used to the wait in-between the first game, and the second game, and then waiting for the final. They are long nights, but I got into a routine that worked and that’s why I ended up with four wins.”

Aiming for His Best Achievement
While Littler considers his World Championship final appearance against Luke Humphries earlier this year as his greatest achievement, he believes winning the Premier League would surpass it.
“The World Final is still my best achievement to date, until I actually win the Premier League,” he stated with determination.
As Littler prepares to face Michael Smith in the semi-final, his confidence is palpable. He has proven his doubters wrong and is now on the brink of securing his first major title. With his remarkable debut season, Littler has shown that he is not just ready for the Premier League, but ready to dominate it.
