A challenge for business students

0

BUSINESS students took time out of their scheduled lessons to get involved in a day of team-based challenges.
The BTEC business students from Warrington’s Priestley College were kept on their toes as visitors from Young Enterprise in Warrington set them a range of business related tasks.
Students were each allocated a team and then competed against each other in a mock pitch competition based on an advertising campaign which tested their marketing skills to the full. The teams were also judged throughout on their ability to work as a complete unit.
During a rollercoaster event in which real life business scenarios were acted out, the students had to react to market like pressures including the rising costs of stock and a downturn in the economy, linking in well to the current recession.
Business tutor Julie McDonald said: “Many of our students have big ambitions to have a successful career in business and these type of challenges give them an opportunity to showcase their skills.”
