A MODEL railway exhibition attracted hundreds of enthusiasts and members of the public to Warrington Collegiate for a weekend of fun and interest.

The ever popular event this year saw over a dozen layouts from all over the north of England on display and included 4 different gauge tracks. Also on hand to help and advise were experts running “how to” demonstrations in many of the different skills required by model railway builders.

Many traders stalls provided everything you could possibly need for this hobby from the tiniest scenery details to complete train sets. Hosted by Warrington Model Railway Club the event, once again, was a great success and popular with all ages.

Warrington Model Railway Club is an active group of modellers who meet mainly on Monday evenings. They enjoy spacious facilities that allow groups to pursue a range of interests.

Currently their premises house various 4mm scale layouts which are complete or in varying stages of construction.

Two smaller rooms contain layouts, one used by Warrington’s 2mm group who have a number of layouts which are regularly exhibited including their most recent, Glazebrook, a scale model of a local station on the Cheshire Lines route between Liverpool and Manchester.

Another room contains a developing DCC layout. There is a library room with a large collection of books and videos managed by the clubs librarian, and there is also a canteen where members can meet for tea and coffee.

The club welcomes new members of any level of experience and can be contacted through club chairman David Brown by email here [email protected] or by visiting their website http://www.warringtonmodelrail.co.uk/contact-us/4576124052
