WARRINGTON Wolves will be without suspended forward Ashton Sims for Friday’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup quarter final clash with Widnes, kick off 8pm.
Sims has picked up a two match ban and a £300 fine after pleading guilty to a Grade B high tackle offence on Catalans Jason Baitieri last Friday night.
Sam Wilde has been drafted into the 19 man squad as his replacement in the only change from last week, meaning there are no places for wingers Gene Ormsby and Tom Lineham.
The Wolves have won both matches between the two teams so far this year but knock-out rugby always brings something different to the table, and form goes out of the window.
Smith has stuck with the same squad, with just the one change, despite expressing extreme disappointment about last week’s performance, despite a narrow victory.
Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith has named his squad for this week’s cup quarter final. Ashton Sims out through suspension.
