St Rocco’s charity shops set to reopen

ST Rocco’s Hospice is set to reopen its charity shops with the Mersey Street Furniture and Interiors premises opening on Monday, June 15.

The shop will be COVID-19 safe, with a one-way system and social distancing in place to help protect customers and staff.
It will operate reduced hours (Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm) to allow staff to thoroughly clean the premises each day.
Eric Russell, Head of Income Generation at the Hospice said: “We’re delighted to be reopening the Furniture and Interiors shop. Not only are we looking forward to serving customers again, but we also know that many of our volunteers are excited to return. We’ve worked hard to make sure the shop follows all the COVID-19 retail guidelines, as safety is our top priority.”
The Furniture and Interiors shop is the first of St Rocco’s charity shops to reopen, and it is hoped that the other shops will be safe to reopen over the coming weeks.
After many weeks of lockdown, the Hospice is expecting a surge of donations to their shops.

Eric added:“We know people have been clearing out their homes in this time, and we’re grateful for anyone thinking of donating their goods to us. However, we’d kindly request that no donations are left at shops, including the Furniture shop, because of the strict quarantine period we’re imposing on all donated goods.”
St Rocco’s will instead have a dedicated donation drop off point at Priestley College, Loushers Lane. The station will open on Monday, June 15, and donations can be dropped off between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.
For large furniture donations, please use the online booking system at www.stroccos.org.uk to arrange a free collection, or call the store on 01925 650800.
