Two hour battle with deep-seated fire on open land

FIRE crews battled for two hours this morning to extinguish a deep seated fire on open land at Winwick, Warrington.
The blaze was off Alder Lane and involved a large quantity of waste materials.
A hose reel jet was used to tackle the flames and a water shuttle was set up to get enough water to the scene.
Crews dragged away debris to expose the deep seated fire and enable them to direct jets onto the bTwo hour battle withurning rubbish.
