Win tickets for Wire v Saints crunch time!

It’s crunch time in the Betfred Super League as Warrington host St Helens at The Halliwell Jones Stadium now -re-scheduled for Saturday 22 September, 3.15pm.

The clash promises to be the Wire’s toughest test this season with league leaders Saints.

Justin Holbrook’s side have been the stand-out side in the competition this year but Challenge Cup finalists Warrington have been building impressively under Steve Price and are hitting their best form at the business end of the season.

St Helens have the upper hand between the sides this year winning both of the regular season fixtures between the teams.

The league leaders won comfortably 30-12 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium back in March and a last-gasp Danny Richardson penalty broke Warrington’s hearts at the Totally Wicked Stadium last month as Saints edged a thrilling contest 14-12.

Richardson has been one of Saints’ key performers this year and along with the likes of Ben Barba and Mark Percival have produced some thrilling attacking displays and scored some exhilarating tries.

The Wire are set to fight fire with fire however and have plenty of ammunition going forward with an expansive brand of rugby under Price.

Josh Charnley has been in blistering form since his move to the Wolves crossing 22 times in his 20 appearances and is chasing Barba as the competition’s top try-scorer.

All eyes will be on the battle of the number 9s also as the competition’s two most consistent hookers Daryl Clark and James Roby go head-to-head.

With Warrington still naiming to climb the table after securing a top four finish, it promises to be one of the biggest derbies between the rivals in recent years.
