Lymm shows support for Manchester

1

FOLLOWING the tragic events in Manchester on Monday night, Lymm Parish Council has put the ‘Cross’ flag at half mast, and will be holding a minutes silence at the next Parish Meeting on June 13 in remembrance.

The Chairman of the Parish Council, John Bamforth, will also open up a book of condolences for those who would like to express their sympathies for the victims of Mondays attack in Manchester.

It will be in the village hall on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29. The doors will open at 7.30pm and close at 9.30pm. Memorial flowers can also be left.

Cllr Bamforth said: “We are all horrified to hear about the attack at a concert, primarily for children in Manchester on Monday night. There have always been close ties between Lymm and Manchester and I am opening this Book of Condolence to let the people of Lymm express their sympathies to the families of those who died or were injured and to express our solidarity with the people of Manchester at this dark hour.”

  1. I was born in Lymm in 1946, attended school there and left in 1974. I have followed the terrible story of the Manchester terrorist attack. My heart goes out to all those concerned, those poor young people and their grieving families, those who were waiting to take their kids home, all so innocent and unsuspecting. May they all find peace and may they all get he support they will so badly need. RIP and God Bless from Canada. Sincerely Doreen Harrison, nee Booth.
