A GREAT Sankey Scout is getting ready to conquer Wales’ highest peak this weekend to help raise funds for a volunteering trip to Kenya with Camps International.
James Sherratt, 14, a student at Great Sankey High School has set a target of £4,000 to support his place on the once in a lifetime expedition.
While in Kenya James will be volunteering on a wide range of projects such as building homes and helping gain access to clean fresh water.
James said: “This trip will push me completely out of my comfort zone, teaching me skills I can’t learn in a classroom, creating unforgettable memories”
James will be completing a number of challenges over the next 10 months, having already completed the Anfield 5K earlier this month.
