MORE than 200 people have taken part in a three hour mass participation exercise session to celebrate the popular Les Mills fitness programme returning to Warrington.
After a short break away, BodyPump and BodyCombat classes are now back at LiveWire leisure sites due to popular demand.
Les Mills regional master trainer, Michelle Nicholls travelled up from London to deliver a masterclass on the latest BodyPump 100 and BodyCombat 70 routines.
People of all abilities were able to take part with the two sessions offering different levels of workout.
BodyPump is a stationary workout that uses light to moderate weights with lots of repetition to help shape and tone the entire body.
BodyCombat is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. It can be used to develop co-ordination and release stress.
The BodyPump 100 masterclass coincided with the international launch of the programme, with gyms across the world trying out the new routine for the first time.
The two programmes, developed by the New Zealand-based group exercise provider, are two of the most popular exercise programmes in the world with five million people attending Les Mills classes every week.
Jake Smith, fitness co-ordinator at LiveWire, said: “It was fantastic to see so many people try out the new Les Mills routines and judging by the electric atmosphere in the room, everyone had a great time.
“We hope that the masterclass sessions will inspire more people to make BodyPump and BodyCombat part of their regular exercise programmes.”
As part of the Les Mills relaunch, LiveWire has also made Les Mills On Demand available for members and non-members to subscribe to for the first time.
The on-the-go programme allows users to complete more than 100 Les Mills workouts at home which can be accessed anytime and anywhere via a mobile device to complement their regular gym activity.
