WARRINGTON couple Wendy and Howard Platt opened Laskey Farm garden to the public in honour of Howard’s business partner Bill Spencer who passed away in January.

Bill was managing director of Locker Group in Warrington and the event was organised by his widow Marguerite in Bill’s memory and in aid of St Rocco’s Hospice.

Wendy is the driving force and opens the gardens each year for the National Garden Scheme in August and over the past four years has raised £20,000 through that scheme for charity.

The spectacular garden includes fascinating water features consisting of five interconnected ponds containing about 50,000 gallons . A highlight for children is the Turtle Pond, home to 32 Terrapins.

This year a feature treehouse has been constructed as part of the continuous garden project and co-ordinates with the existing flower beds, lawned areas, greenhouse and extensive planted borders.

Laskey Farm has been featured as Garden of the Week in Garden News Magazine.

The event raised £2,500 for St Rocco’s.
