The Friday Alternative club night celebrates first birthday with special event

An independent music club night which has raised more than £2,000 for charity is celebrating its first birthday with a special event in Warrington on Friday, November 20.

The Friday Alternative has enjoyed 12 months of bringing together music lovers of all ages, with its eclectic mix of indie and alternative sounds attracting a crowd ranging from 18 to over 70.
During its first year, the event has raised well over £2,000 for children’s charities NSPCC and War Child, while building a following through its lively atmosphere and varied music selection.
To mark the milestone, the team will be celebrating at its new home, BrickHaus, next door to Friars Court.
The move followed feedback from regular visitors, who wanted more seating and tables, a modern setting, a wider choice of drinks and somewhere to leave their coats during the winter months.
BrickHaus, which has been fully refurbished alongside Friars Court, offers all these facilities, as well as a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.

Six local DJs – Eddie McKeown, Phil Hilton, Ronnie Cayzer, Anthony Kinsella, Martin Earlam and Nick White – will be behind the decks, delivering a soundtrack spanning several decades of indie and alternative music.
The Friday Alternative’s playlist takes in everything from indie classics and post-punk to 90s grunge and Britpop, 00s anthems, modern alternative sounds, electronic and leftfield dance, and hip-hop.

Tickets are available from www.fridayalternative.club, where visitors can also sign up for ticket alerts and submit requests for tracks they’d like to hear on the night.
