PLANNING chiefs at Warrington will be asked tomorrow to rule on proposals for 167 homes on open land at Lymm.
Outline planning consent for the development off Warrington Road, Lymm was given in November last year but now 17 residents have lodged objections to a reserved matters application which mut be approved before the scheme can go ahead.
The development would be carried out by Miller Homes and includeds 50 affordable homes – 34 of which would be to let.
Lymm Parish Council has not objected to the scheme, but has expressed concerns at a nmber of aspects of the scheme.
Overall, objections claim Biodiversity Net Gain targets have not been me and that the eastern boundary of the site should be revised to include a buffer or landscaping to reduce the impact on existing nearby residents and Statham Primary School.
There are also concerns over congestion, highway safety, and the need for a drop off point for the school
Lack of bus provision , a shortage of shops within walking distance and the impact on historic cottages in Yeald Brow are also highlighted.
Planning officers say the proposals are acceptable, however, and are recommending the borough’s development management committee approve the scheme.
