Charlotte Nichols MP recently visited EMR Group (European Metal Recycling) at their Headquarters in Westbrook to meet with CEO Chris Sheppard.
EMR process ferrous grades such as iron and steel, as well as non-ferrous grades such as aluminium, brass, copper, lead and stainless steel, from a wide range of sources. This material is then sold for re-purpose across the globe.
With a history spanning 70 years, EMR have grown from a single UK business to a multi-national corporation. Their experience, vast capabilities and commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) values, places EMR amongst the most respected and trusted waste recycling companies in the world.
EMR recycle ten-million tonnes of waste annually, made up of everything from drinks cans to oil platforms, which are re-used, recycled and recovered into more than 200 grades of new, sustainable raw materials. EMR also plays an active role in seeking solutions to global environmental challenges. This is reflected in their progressive and sophisticated Sustainable Business Strategy, in which they strive to be the most efficient solution provider for their customers, employees, communities and the environment.
Charlotte Nichols MP said “It was great to catch up with Chris Sheppard the CEO of EMR UK Metal Recycling – one of the leading metal recyclers, and one of the largest family owned businesses in the country at their Headquarters in Westbrook.”
