Lymm bids farewell to a familiar face

1

Since March 2001, Lymm’s very own weekend litter picker has been tidying the village centre before most residents had even ventured out of the house.

Warrington born and bred Paul Whitney joined the Parish Council in 2001, working weekends all year round, come rain or shine.
With a regular route through the village, the car parks and the Lower Dam, Paul often found interesting and unusual items that would need disposing of, and occasionally, needing reporting to
the police.
Chatting to residents, Paul welcomed the mugs of tea that were often made for him by grateful residents.

Paul has now decided its time to hang up his hoop and litter picker for good and thanks everyone who has made his time in Lymm enjoyable and rewarding, and now looks forward to spending time with his family and growing number of pets.
Lymm Parish Council extends its deepest thanks to Paul and his family and wishes him every happiness in his retirement.
