FIREFIGHTERS were called out yesterday to deal with a business sign which was hanging dangerously over London Road, Stockton Heath.

Shortly after 5.30pm one fire engine from Lymm was called out to reports of a sign hanging precariously from the front of a business on London Road.

Firefighters used a short ladder to go up and remove the approximately one metre square sign which, had it fallen, would have landed in the road causing a danger to traffic.

Earlier, shortly after 5pm Firefighters from Warrington tackled a fire in a skip in the garden of a property in Northway, Warrington. The skip was sited in the front garden close to the property. The crew was at the scene for around 45 minutes.

Meanwhile on Monday, shortly before noon, two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm attended to a property on Grasmere Avenue following reports of a mattress on fire.

A hose reel jet was used to put out the mattress.
