A DEVELOPMENT of three and four bedroom houses and two bedroom apartments is to be built at Warrington as part of a programme to build more than 1,300 new homes across the North West.

The £59 million project, including £23m at Warrington, has been announced by the Sigma Capital Group, in partnership with mixed-tenure developer Countryside. Homes will be built on three sites at Warrington, Manchester and Blackburn.

The £23.7 million scheme at Rivers Edge, Warrington will consist of three and four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments to rent adjacent to the Mersey built by Sigma’s private rental brand, Simple Life, which already has more than 4,500 properties across the UK.

Over the three North West sites there will be 402 homes for private rent, 649 for open market sale and 297 listed as affordable housing.

Sigma say the scheme in Warrington is based on a former industrial site, located near to scenic canal walking paths, within easy reach of Bank Quay station, the town centre and Stockton Heath.

Jason Berry, regional managing director at Sigma, said: “We’ve been working with Countryside for over 15 years delivering thousands of private rental homes across the UK and we’re delighted to see our partnership explore new areas for both parties.

“The three new schemes have been carefully selected in areas which we feel have an undersupply of high-quality, professionally managed, rental homes. We have experienced huge demand for our many hundreds of Simple Life homes within the North West region, and we are looking forward to serving more local families looking to rent across these three developments. Our homes are pet friendly and all come with plenty of space, gardens and fitted appliances.

“All schemes are within easy reach of local amenities, including shopping centres, sport centres and supermarkets. All sites have access to highly rated schools and excellent transport links providing access to neighbouring towns and cities.”

Jo Jamieson, chief executive, Partnerships North, Countryside said: “These three mixed-tenure sites will offer individuals and families across the North West a range of routes to live in a new, high-quality home. The market for new homes in this region is strong, so we’re pleased to be continuing our longstanding partnership with Sigma to create a wide variety of affordable and private rental properties as well as homes for sale on the open market.”
Simple Life’s first homes will be handed over towards the end of the year. For more information, please visit www.simplelifehomes.co.uk.
