THE keys to the newly completed Culcheth High School have been handed over to the head teacher by the developer.
Costing nearly £30m, the state of the art school was Warrington’s pathfinder school in the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
Students will now have a taste of what’s to come as they move in to try out the new building before the summer break.
Facilities they will enjoy include a recording studio, dance studios and technology suites. The local community will also be able to access to sports and meeting facilities, a leisure centre and brand new Sure Start Children’s Centre.
Colun Sheila Woodyatt, the borough council’s executive member for education and young people said: “This is a very exciting milestone for us and in just a few short weeks learners will finally enter this fantastic building which will provide them with a flexible and stimulating learning environment. What I have seen of it so far is excellent and I am looking forward to the official launch in the autumn.”
