LATCHFORD Albion’s promotion charge suffered a setback when they fell to a 16-10 defeat at Saddleworth Rangers A.
It was the hosts who opened the scoring early on with a converted try, but Latchford soon registered their first score when debutant Sam Bedlow crossed out wide.
A second Saddleworth try on 30 minutes saw them go into the break with a 10-4 advantage.
Latchford levelled the scores on 50 minutes when Riley Cole raced under the posts, Dave Manfredi adding the extras.
The hosts regained the lead on the hour mark with a further converted try.
Latchford applied constant pressure to the Saddleworth line but could not find a way through a well organised defence and they held on to secure victory.
