WARRINGTON’S Luke Littler tasted defeat as Luke Humphries produced a stunning six-leg blitz to triumph 6-3 in the semi-finals of Premier League Darts Night 15 in Birmingham last night.
The defeat ended Littler’s incredible 10-match winning streak but could not prevent the 19-year-old from mathematically securing top spot in the final league table.
“The Nuke” darted into a commanding 3-0 lead. Littler had two clear darts at his favourite double 10 to go 4-0 up, but uncharacteristically missed.
Reigning champion Humphries capitalised ruthlessly, averaging nearly 111 as he reeled off six consecutive legs to stun the teenager. Humphries went on to beat Gerwyn Price 6-4 in the night’s final, capturing his very first weekly title of the 2026 campaign.
Despite the semi-final exit, Littler had already clinched 1st place in the league phase earlier in the evening by whitewashing his closest rival, Jonny Clayton, 6-0 in the quarter-finals.
The wider impact of Night 15 was the total solidification of the top four play-off spots heading into the final league night in Sheffield.
The Top Four Confirmed: Luke Littler, Jonny Clayton, Luke Humphries, and Gerwyn Price have mathematically secured their places for the O2 Arena Play-Offs on May 28.
Sitting 7th after Week 10 and 5 points adrift of the top four just weeks ago, Humphries is now guaranteed to finish no lower than 4th. He sits level on points with Gerwyn Price.
Seven-time Premier League champion Michael van Gerwen has been mathematically eliminated from play-off contention, missing out on Finals Night for the second consecutive year. Gian van Veen, Stephen Bunting, and Josh Rock have also been eliminated.
