A PLAN to convert a historic town centre house into “trainer flats” for young people leaving care or foster homes is set to come before Warrington planning chiefs.

The Grade 2 Listed Georgian town house is in Stanley Street and is believed to date from 1772.
Two adjoining houses – also Grade 2 Listed – have already been converted and are already is use, managed by the charity Bedspace, which provides temporary accommodation for young people aged 17-21 leaving care.
Officers are recommending that the borough council’s development management committee approve the proposal as the house is currently unoccupied and the proposed change of use will ensure the property does not deteriorate.

The scheme will also involve the refurbishment of the interior of the property and the construction of a two-storey rear extension. After conversion, the house will accommodate seven youngsters
All three properties were originally residential but were later converted to offices.
