A mobile cervical screening drop-in service is coming to Warrington.
The Living Well bus, delivered by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will be providing mobile cervical screening tests in Warrington, throughout July and August.
The bus will be at various locations, offering drop-in cervical screening tests, also known as a smear test, for people who have missed an appointment, are overdue an appointment or due to have a test but haven’t managed to book an appointment yet.
The bus offers a convenient, private and accessible way for people to go for their cervical screening, without the need for an appointment.
The test itself should take less than five minutes and the whole appointment should take around 10 minutes. The screening will be carried out by female staff, and they will be able to answer any questions or concerns. You can bring someone with you to your appointment, such as a friend, family member or chaperone, to make you feel more comfortable. The bus is also accessible to wheelchair users.

Cervical screening checks the health of your cervix and helps find any abnormal cells that could develop into cancer, if left untreated. It is not a test for cancer, it’s a test to help prevent cervical cancer. Cervical screening is offered to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 and helps to save thousands of lives each year.
Cabinet member for health, wellbeing and social care, Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, said “It’s so important to go for your cervical screening test – they’re a proven way to help prevent cervical cancer. It only takes a few minutes, but it could save your life.
“If you’re due or overdue for your screening, please take advantage of this opportunity to get your test done by dropping by the Living Well bus on any of these six dates.
“If you can’t attend any of the dates but are due or overdue for cervical screening, please make an appointment with your GP or attend a sexual health clinic to have the test.”
