Teenage darts sensation and education leader both honoured in King’s Birthday Honours

TEENAGE darts sensation Luke Littler and deputy chief executive of Bright Futures Educational Trust Lisa Fathers, have both been honoured in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Littler, who was crowned the youngest ever world darts champion at the age of 17 years and 347 days earlier, becomes a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).

The young darts ace from Warrington isteaming up with arch-rival Luke Humphries this weekend to form the England team competing at the World Cup of Darts. Humphries, who also lives in Cheshire defeated Littler in the 2024 PDC World Championship final and recent Premier League final – has also received an MBE.
They have been recognised on the honours list for ‘services to darts’.
Meanwhile, Lisa Fathers, from Appleton, Warrington, deputy chief executive officer at Bright Futures Educational Trust, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to education.
With over 25 years of experience in the sector, Lisa has devoted her career to raising aspirations, improving outcomes, and driving transformational change across schools and communities.
She has demonstarted an unwavering commitment to improving the life chances of children and young people, the trust says.
With significant expertise in school improvement, Lisa, aged 49 and her team are responsible for the training of thousands of early career teachers, ultimately improving the quality of teaching for children.
