AMENDED plans for a seven-storey block of apartments on Winwick Street, Warrington, have been given the green light by town planners.
It is the third time the proposals have been approved by Warrington Borough Council planners, and is subject to a 106 agreement that the development includes affordable homes and First Homes.
The Full Planning (Major) application involves the proposed erection of a seven-storey building comprising 26 residential apartments (Use Class C3) and 342 sqm ground floor commercial floorspace (Use Class E) together with an amenity garden, cycle and bin storage and other associated works.
The development is proposed on land At 31-35 Winwick Street, Land At 31-35 Winwick Street, Warrington.
Conditions include a Local Employment scheme. Other than ground investigation works, site clearance and remediation, the development shall not commence until a local employment scheme has been submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority.
The scheme shall outline the means of maximising the beneficial local economic impact from the development in terms of contracting and supply chain opportunities for local businesses and job opportunities for the local community/residents, and
businesses. The approved employment scheme shall be fully implemented.
Unless otherwise agreed by the council, 10 per cent of the dwellings must include two one-bed Affordable Housing Units made available to rent and one two-bed Affordable Units made available as First Homes.
The section 106 agreement also includes £5,382 towards the preparation and management o the council’s Town Centre Travel Plan.
