COFFEE Bar Holy Trinity, Warrington, is taking part in Volunteers Week – joining thousands of charities and voluntary groups across the country is recognising the contribution volunteers make in the UK.
The week, which has been running every year since 1984, provides an opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills.
Coffee Bar Holy Trinity Warrington is celebrating with its volunteers, by running Coffee Bar Sessions, handing out certificates and giving volunteers a big “Thank You” for all they do.
It is the volunteers that enable the town centre church run the Coffee Bar serving the local community.
Volunteer co-ordinator, Steve Wright, said: “Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate and recognise the fantastic contribution our volunteers make. Thanks to them the local community has benefited from 30 plus years of service to our town.
” We have over 40 regular volunteers serving in our Coffee Bar providing a welcoming, friendly place to relax and make new friends. We provide drinks and food, mainly tea and toast, offering crafting, chat, and practical support in our safe and welcoming space.”
The experience and confidence gained by volunteers at the coffee bar enables some to obtain jobs.
Volunteers’ Week is led by the UK Volunteering Forum, a partnership between Volunteer Scotland, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and Volunteer Now in Northern Ireland.
