Care home helps charity buy new pottery wheel

BROOKFIELD care home in Lymm recently presented Create Bolton with a cheque for £1.000 to buy a new pottery wheel.

Create Bolton are a Christian charity in the middle of Bolton who use their art in the widest sense to bring people and the communities together.

The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
The care home visited Create Bolton with two of their residents to deliver the Cheque and celebrate with them at being awarded the grant.
Carol Hardman, Operational manager, said “The extra wheel will enable us to make larger items and to run larger classes, which means we will be able to support even more people in the community, it will be wonderful, we can’t thank you enough.
Sarah Nolan, General Manager at Brookfield care home, said: “We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities. This charity is so important to the community of Bolton as it helps so many people who need kindness and support, a bit of time out or simply to socialise and get in touch with their Creative side.
