A NUMBER of town centre streets in Warrington will be closed to traffic on Sunday morning (March 17) while the annual St Patrick’s Day parade takes place.
Organisers from the local Irish Club are hoping it will be the biggest St Patrick’s Day parade held so far.
Warrington Borough Council has made an order prohibiting the use of the following streets between 10am and 1pm:
Orford Lane, Pinners Brow, Winwick Street, Scotland Road, Academy Street, Academy Way and Bridge Street.
Several hundred people are expected to take part in the parade.
Access will be maintained for emergency services and vehicles taking part in the parade.
Bicycles and tricycles are included in the term “vehicles” and anyone wilfully acting in contravention of the order will be liable to a fine of up to £400.
