Lucky seven as four Monopoly players take a Chance and all land on Warrington Worldwide!

LUCKY seven it certainly proved to be when members of the Warrington Worldwide team sat down over Christmas to play the new edition of the popular family board game Monopoly, themed on their hometown.

With Warrington Worldwide featuring as the seventh place on the board, as the “Chance” card, members of the team were obviously keen to land on it – but what happened next was unbelievable and somewhat spooky!

First to go was Billy Dixon, partner of Warrington Worldwide’s digital manager Hannah Skentelbery, playing his first-ever game of Monopoly. He eagerly rolled the dice and threw a seven, becoming the first to land on the Warrington Worldwide “Chance,” to much applause. Next up was Hannah, who incredibly also threw seven, landing on the same space.
Following screams of excitement up came her sister Amy Skentelbery, who unbelievably also threw a seven, to even more excited screams!

What happened next was even more unbelievable as Warrington Worldwide Editor Gary Skentelbery, who had been instrumental in helping the game’s makers, Winning Moves, develop the game featuring local landmarks said: “If I throw a seven as well there is something definitely going on in the spiritual world.”
Clutching the dice in clasped hands and blowing on them for extra luck, he threw them high into the air causing them to bounce high off the board several times – to land on seven again – and sudden high-pitched screams from his two daughters!”
It was just one of those moments those present will never forget and is unlikely to ever be repeated at odds of 1/1296!
The other interesting fact from the occasion was that all four players took a chance and ended up winning money on each occasion!
Unfortunately, the game didn’t reach its conclusion as the Christmas spirits kicked in!

As well as featuring Warrington Worldwide The new MONOPOLY: Warrington Edition game landmarks and features include:
•FOODBANK NEXT DOOR TO ‘OLD KENT ROAD’: Next door to ‘Old Kent Road’ (the board’s most affordable square) on a Community Chest space will be Warrington Foodbank, one of several charities to be included and celebrated within the game. At the other end of the board The Golden Gates will be unveiled as the ‘Mayfair of Warrington’.
•FIDDLERS FERRY BECOMES WARRINGTON’S ELECTRIC COMPANY: The famous ‘Electric Company’ square is represented by Fiddlers Ferry Power Station. It forms one half of a Utility Set, with Lymm Dam featured on the Water Works square.
•30+ LANDMARKS ‘PASS GO’!: Other Warrington landmarks featuring include: The Transporter Bridge, Warrington Wolves, Walton Hall and Gardens, the Warrington Museum & Art Gallery, Victoria Park and The Pink Eye (on a pink square – of course!).

The money is customised as well. It includes motifs of The Golden Gates and the Transporter Bridge – a nod to Warrington’s rich heritage.
MONOPOLY first hit shelves in 1935 with the Racecar, Thimble, Boot, Top Hat, and Battleship among the original set of MONOPOLY tokens while the Scottie Dog and Wheelbarrow were added in the early 1950s. Although the brand has evolved over the past 87 years, the gameplay and iconography of the classic MONOPOLY game has remained unchanged, making it a timeless classic sure to be enjoyed by future generations. Today, MONOPOLY is the world’s favourite family game brand and is enjoyed by more than one billion players in 114 countries across the globe.
