PLANS have been submitted for a major development at the long-established Baronet Works industrial site in Baronet Road, Warrington.

Ingevity UK Ltd are seeking permission to build a new 28m X 30m building with a 35m chimney to house new steam boilers and associated equipment to provide site-wide steam for industrial use.
The development would replace older, less efficient steam boilers which would be demolished.

Warrington Borough council planning chief are currently considering the proposals.
Reports submitted in support of the application say there is a need to increase energy efficiency in the borough to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate
change, to reduce pollution and impacts on air quality and support to projects that can deliver efficient and
sustainable development.

The applications claim the proposal will minimise energy-related carbon emissions.
Baronet Works has a reputation as a thriving and competitive industrial business location, and this would be enhanced through the development proposal.
The industrial location would continue to be the focus for environmental improvements and investment by the applicant that would also attract further investment to Warrington
