Digital Music Production course for adults with Autism and Additional Needs

WARRINGTON-based charity, Creating Adventures is providing free digital music production courses for adults with autism and additional needs.

Starting in November and run over a period of 12 months at The Pyramid Arts Centre, Warrington, registration is available online via the Creating Adventures website www.creatingadventures.co.uk/music-course

This fully funded project, delivered by Steve Oates from Score Creative Education, will involve 10 adults at a time engaging in one-hour weekly sessions using professional standard IT and digital audio equipment to create and record their own music. Attendees will learn to use GarageBand for Mac software via iPad, musical instruments, digital audio recording equipment and their own vocal ability to create music in their own personal style.

As part of the course there will be opportunities to explore different musical techniques, to experiment with DJ equipment and create finished tracks which will be uploaded onto SoundCloud for sharing with family and friends. Participants will be able to incorporate samples of their favourite gaming soundtrack, or TV theme tune and create tracks in their preferred genre; hip-hop, garage, rap, pop, rock, disco, soul, blues, jazz or invent something new! Music will also be created to accompany performances of the Creating Adventures Beautiful Noise choir.
