Plan to convert antique shop to a cottage

PLANS to convert a disused building from an antique furniture shop and workshop into a three-bedroom cottage will be put to Warrington planners tomorrow (Wednesday).

The building, known as Pine Surgery, forms part of Roadside Farm, London Road, Stretton.
In the past it has been used as a doctor’s surgery, a dwelling and as a shop with a flat above it. But it has stood empty for some time.

Stretton Parish Council has lodged an objection to the change of use.
They acknowledge that the building has previously been a dwelling, but point out that traffic on London Road has increased significantly since then. They believe it would require parking space and point out that the site is within the Green Belt.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
They point out that no external alterations are proposed other than re-painting and replacing existing windows.
