Blazing chip pan starts kitchen fire

A HOUSE at Warrington was left smokelogged after fire broke out in the kitchen yesterday.
The fire involved a chip pan at a property in Somerset Way, Woolston at around 12.40pm.
Two fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood went to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
Electricity and gas supplies were isooated and a thermal imaging camera was then used to check for hotspots. A large fan was used to remove smoke from the house.
Firefighters left the property once they were satisfied that it was safe. They were in attendance for around half-an-hour.
