FIREFIGHTERS were called to Risley, Warrington after reports of a car on fire.
The blaze involved a saloon car well alight in Warrington Road, shortly after 1.30pm yesterday.
A safety cordon was set up and a firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The car was then damped down to make it safe.
Firefighters were in attendance for nearly an hour.
