£10,000 reward offered in Burtonwood murder hunt

A £10,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer of Anne Marie Pomphret four weeks ago.
The 49-year-old was found dead at stables off Old Alder Lane, Burtonwood, Warrington on November 2 – and a murder investigation was launched.
Detectives from the Cheshire Police major investigation team are still making extensive enquiries – but the Crimestoppers crime fighting charity has offered the reward to anyone who gives them information leading to a conviction.
Detective Inspector Adam Waller said: ““We are determined to find the person responsible for Ann Marie’s death.
“It has been a month since she died and, during that time, a dedicated team of detectives have been carrying out extensive enquiries in the local area, which include forensic enquiries, CCTV enquiries and house-to-house enquiries, to try and piece together as much information as possible.
“We are trying to establish the full circumstances of what happened that night so that we can get justice for Ann Marie.
“As part of our commitment we have enlisted the help of the crime fighting charity, Crimestoppers which has offered a £10,000 award for information given to them that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.”
DI Waller added: “This is a complex investigation and whilst the visible element of our work – including carrying out forensic enquiries at the scene – has now finished I want to reassure people that behind the scenes we are continuing to work tirelessly on this case. The enquiries and the search effort so far has led to the discovery of what we believe to be a significant piece of evidence that will now undergo further detailed forensic analysis.
“However we still need you to come forward if you have any information. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear anything unusual? If so, please get in touch.”
A 50-year-old man was arrested as part of police enquiries and has since been released on conditional bail.
