THE Warrington BID team has embarked on a digital marketing campaign linked to the theme of The 12 Days of Christmas with the aim of increasing footfall by pulling together all town centre events, special promotions and food and drink offers.

The campaign includes a large-scale treasure map trail which aims to drive footfall around the town centre whilst brightening up storefronts and vacant properties.

A three-day Christmas Makers Market will also fill the town centre bringing together the community, local traders and the finest in award-winning food, drink, art and craft- beginning November 30th.

Visitors will be able to select from a range of unique gifts and sample the fare from over 70 stalls featuring town centre traders plus selected specialists, who source, grow, rear, bake, make and create the products they sell.

There’ll be free street entertainment, a teepee performance space and music across the town centre throughout the whole weekend which will provide fun for all the family.

The BID has also invested in new Christmas lighting for Palmyra Square and Bridge Street. And, in partnership with Warrington police, free shopper safety kits will be distributed at awareness events in Golden Square, Warrington Market and Cockhedge Shopping Park.

The BID has successfully worked with Warrington Market to improve access in and around the town centre this Christmas. Warrington Borough Council have funded additional Christmas parking on the four Sundays in December and the BID is funding supplementary bus services for revellers following feedback from pubs and clubs to support the night-time economy.

Warrington’s newly appointed BID Manager, Donna Tuxford said, “With over £50k of additional investment by Warrington’s BID members, we’re hoping that this year’s Christmas will be a bumper one for business.”

The Warrington Business Improvement District (BID) is working hard to drive footfall in the town centre; with plans over the next 5 years to drive a step change in the management of Warrington town centre, with over 300 businesses on board.

The BID has a business plan to attract thousands of shoppers to the town centre and enhance the visitor experience by providing a range of exciting events and promotions throughout the festive period and beyond.
