Pageant queen backs Warrington to win in style

A LOCAL businesswoman in the running to win Miss British Isles Elegance is hoping the Warrington 2021 City of Culture  bid has the same success as she did in her first competition.
Warrington-born Bethany Mae Trainer, who has been crowned this year’s Miss Cheshire Elegance and will now go on to represent the borough in the Miss British Isles competition in June, has thrown her support behind Warrington’s bid.
Bethany pledged her support during a visit to Warrington Town Hall. She was invited by the Mayor, Cllr Faisal Rashid, who wanted to congratulate her on her recent success and wish her luck for the national competition.
As she prepares for her own UK competition against women from across the country, Bethany has talked about how her own belief is helping her fulfil her dreams and that if the people of Warrington believe in the bid, then the town can achieve anything.
Bethany said: “I entered Miss Cheshire Elegance on impulse, because I wanted to find a way to represent Warrington. It was the first beauty pageant I had ever entered and I never dreamt I would get as far as I have, to be competing at a national level. It just goes to show what you can achieve if you believe in yourself.
“That’s why I think the people of Warrington should believe in our City of Culture bid. I’m right behind it, because as a town, we have a lot going for us. There are fantastic people and a real sense of community here – and we sometimes underestimate just how good our town really is. If we believe in ourselves, the sky’s the limit!
Bethany added: “I want to help raise Warrington’s profile and spread the word that there’s more to us than meets the eye. I just want to play my part in making our great town even greater and I think we can all help to do that. I’m backing the bid because I’m a strong believer that it’s always better to try and fail than to fail to try.”
Cllr Faisal Rashid said: “I’m delighted Bethany is backing our bid. She is a fantastic ambassador for Warrington and I appreciate the wonderful work she is doing to raise the profile of the borough, as well as the extensive charity work she carries out for local causes.
“It’s always a pleasure to meet local, talented, up-and-coming individuals who are achieving great things at a national level. Bethany is definitely one of those people and it’s great to know that she is using her growing profile to promote the town she loves. I wish her every success in the Miss British Isles competition.”
