Senior citizens party is lively affair

MORE than 140 invited guests from Lymm and the surrounding area attended the Lymm Rotary and Lymm Inner Wheel club’s annual Senior Citizens’ Party at Statham Lodge Hotel.

The afternoon’s entertainment was given a great start by “The Serenaders”, a group of ladies who all sing in unaccompanied 4-part harmony.

But they don’t just sing! They also demonstrate how the parts are put together. An impressive feat as they perform matching, choreographed dance moves which help to make the songs livelier and entertaining to watch. They received loud approbation from the audience at the end of their performance.

After the rousing start the afternoon continued with a traditional session of bingo, followed by afternoon tea, prepared and served by the Inner Wheel club’s ladies.

The party was concluded by Bernard Cromarty, who, humorously presented Folk Songs, accompanying himself on various instruments, including a guitar, mandolin and accordion.
As each guest left the party they received a potted Primrose.
