CONSERVATIVE Graham Evans held the key Weaver Vale seat in the General Election.
UKIP increased their presence in the constituency, more than quadrupling their vote and pushing the Liberal Democrats into fourth position.
Weaver Vale was targeted by Labour as one of the most vulnerable Tory seats in the North West. At the last election in 2010, Graham Evans had a majority of only 991. But he held on to the seat with a majority of 806.
The Green Party increased its vote but the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition candidate made no impact on the contest.
The full result was:
Graham Evans (Cons) 20,227; Julia Tickridge (Lab) 19,421; Amos Wright (UKIP) 4,547; Mary Di Mauro (Lib Dem): 1,395; Chris Copeman (Green) 1,183; Joseph Whyte (TUSC): 94.
