Council webcasts “boring” says resident

FRODSHAM’S ground-breaking webcasts of the monthly Town Council meetings are “boring” according to local resident Terry Dillon.
He should know – he has watched every one of the videos since the council started its webcasts earlier this year. He has also attended most of the meetings. “You might think it a bit sad,” he said. “But sometimes you can’t take it all in at the meeting and you can always skip through the video to the part you want.
“But it’s boring. Half the time, you can’t hear the councillors speaking. They have buttons to press to switch on their microphones but often they forget.
“There’s also a lot of static noise which makes it difficult to hear what people are saying. They’ve not got it right.”
Mr Dillon started attending council meetings when the controversy over the sale of the Park Lane Play Area first arose. But he is wondering whether to continue watching the webcasts.
“They tend to be boring – particularly when you can’t hear them. I’m told the static noise might be caused by councillors using their laptop computers. But whatever it is, they need to get it put right.”
Frodsham is believed to be the only town or parish council in Cheshire West – and possibly the country – to broadcast its meetings on the web.
