Family fun day fund-raiser

A FAMILY fun day organised by Warrington Disability Partnership includes a “Walk in the Park” charity fund-raiser.
Attractions at the fun day include glitter tattoos, a “wind up hamster” race and table top sale during the event on Sunday September 22.
The day at WDP’s Centre for Independent Living, Beaufort Street, runs alongside a sponsored event “A Walk in the Park.”
Both are from 10am to 4pm and everyone is invited, whether taking part in the walk or not.
Warrington Wolves, Change for Life and Livewire will be on hand to entertain the crowds. There will be games, stalls, a tombola and activities to keep the little ones happy. A variety of food and drinks will be available to top up energy levels.
The walk starts and finishes from the centre and the route goes through attractive countryside in Sankey Valley Park.
People can enjoy a casual stroll or a brisk walk round the park with a total distance of 3 miles (walkers can choose their own distance and pace).
It is suitable for all abilities including wheelchair users.
Those taking part can raise funds though sponsorship for a charity of their choice, or can pay a registration fee and just enjoy the walk. Anyone who is sponsored and raises £30 or more for WDP will receive a Going the Extra Mile tee shirt.
Registration is just £5 per person with all participants receiving a certificate. All funds raised on the day (apart from any sponsorship raised for individual groups) will go towards supporting the work of Warrington Disability Partnership.
Further details of all events are available on the website www.disabilitypartnership.org.uk or by contacting the WDP fundraising team on 01925 240064
