Housing trust goes into movie-making

A SERIES of short films have been created by Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) to tell tenants how they can benefit from home improvements.
The films, “Getting Ready for Your Home Improvements,” were all shot on location in Warrington. They have been produced to help tenants understand more about its investment programme.
They include information on why the work is being carried out and the benefits it will provide, including upgrades to fixtures and fittings and creating warmer homes to reduce heating bills.
Using a mixture of interviews with GGHT staff and tenants, the films set out what tenants can expect from the trust and what it expects from them in return.
The films also highlight the importance to tenants of letting the trust into their homes each year to carry out essential gas safety checks.
Copies have been loaded onto the trust’s YouTube site (www.youtube.com/GGHTrust) and a series of DVD’s have been produced for loan to tenants.
GGHT celebrated its second anniversary in November and it is currently delivering a multi-million pound investment programme to improve homes and neighbourhoods throughout Warrington.
GGHT director of property services Angela Perry said: “I am delighted to be able to roll out these new films to our customers. We recognise that providing information to our customers before any work takes place can make a real difference in terms of ensuring they are prepared and that the work runs to plan.
“Research shows that video is the most effective way to communicate when you are not face to face and this builds on the excellent service provided by our in-house and partner’s Tenant Liaison services.”
